2010 Christmas @ the Pigott house

Anyone that knows me knows I LOOOOOOOOVE Christmas. It is my absolute favorite time of year. And I Love deocrating for Christmas, it is one of those things that everytime I walk down the stairs and see the decorations up brings a smile to my heart. Since I have been in my own place I try new deco techniques to see what I really like and what isn't so great. Luckily I married a man that lets me decorate for the holidays, haha and that's virtually every holiday too!! So here are some pics of the Christmas deco in the Pigott house this year :) enjoy  and blessings ♥

Update!!

I feel like I haven't been so good with my blogging lately! Especially for my crafty things. The only real projects I have been working on are Christmas cards! However I LOVE making Christmas cards so it's fun!! I promise I will post some of my faves soon!
Things have been so crazy the past few weeks with trying to get everything ready and done for Andre leaving. I am sure you guys are tired of hearing about when Andre leaves, but (of course!) it's on my mind! We had the farewell party with our church family on Saturday. It was sooooo nice, we all just hung out, ate amazing food and talked! Andre said he had a lot of fun, which is good since he usually hates going to obligatory events. Maybe he just had fun since he was the center of attention haha!!! I am trying to be strong about him leaving, but there are moments when I think about him not being here and I get really sad. Sometimes I think to myself, "it'll just be like when he worked in the restaurants, Jeana! He didn't get home til like 2 a.m. then and you went to sleep without him all the time!" But then I remember.... he won't be there when I awake. I think the part that will be the hardest is Sundays, we met at church, we started dating from going to the same bible study.... I am not looking forward to sitting alone during service on Sundays. However, I know I have such a huge support system there, that I won't be "alone" I will just not be sitting by my husband! In one week I can start a new countdown! The countdown til I get to see him graduate from Basic!
All the kiddos are doing really great, Mason and Kira bring so much joy into our home. They are such loves and Frankie and Tre LOVE when they are here. Frankie is so funny, he is really starting to talk. But he won't say the easy things, he would rather say "yellow light" and knock knock jokes. His new thing is he likes to hide. At family dinner last night he was hiding in my step sisters closet, but then couldn't get out haha. She thought it was her puppy in there and when she opened the door and saw Frankie she was quite surprised. Tre is officially a walker now, he walks all over the place and it is so adorable. He is starting to talk as well, he says Mama, Dada, Papa, Nana, and "all done". I am not going to write too much about him since he will have his birthday in a week and I will blog all about him only! Ok, well I guess that's all of my update for now. Be blessed ♥

the first farewell....

Andre and I had the pleasure of bidding farewell to one of his future soldier buds last night. While there I had a glimpse into what we are getting into. Mitch and his wife Chelsea are so sweet, and their baby girl is adorable!!! I am sure this is not the first time I will say this throughout the life of our military journey, but I wish I had met Chelsea earlier as she seems like she is a wonderful woman and a great friend. This was just the first of many farewells to come, 2 of which are for MY husband within the next 16 days. I can't imagine saying goodbye. I am trying not to think about it. This whole new life is so exciting, and I am sure we will make so many new friends that are on a very similar journey as ours. To Mitch and Chelsea I say good luck, God bless and I hope our paths cross again!!! And I am sure glad (selfishly) our first farewell wasn't saying goodbye to Andre, even though I know it's coming and fast! ♥

5 weeks

5 more Sundays rushing to make it to church in time, 5 more family dinners where you can help me keep the kids wrangled. 5 more Monday mornings waking up to just the boys and Frankie running in to say good morning. 5 more Wednesdays feeling bad leaving you at home with the kids while I go to bible study. 5 more Friday night date nights after the kids go to bed. 5 more Saturdays asking you what we should do, and ending up just hanging out at home playing with the kids. 2 more October weeks, 3 in November. 5 weeks till our world is turned upside down. It's coming awfully fast, and I am not sure I am ready. I am so proud of what you are doing, and so scared at the same time. I love you husband of mine, and will make these next 5 weeks as cherishable as possible.

Altered lampshade

I read a lot of magazines that give decorating ideas and DIY projects and I have often seen painting on fabric to alter cushions, lampshades, etc... but I have always been intimidated and apprehensive about trying it. I have been wrestling with ideas of what to do with this lampshade for weeks now, as the colors in the room it's for are not purple (I previously had it covered in blue/underwater stuff to match my old nursery) I had finally decided to just line the top and bottom with bright pink ribbon and call it a day. That was until I was cleaning my craft area and came across the tan and white craft paint!! I figured it couldn't hurt to try and if I hated it I could just cover it again haha!!

To paint it I masked off the stripes and used an old foundation brush so it would really cover well. After the paint dried I peeled of the masking and there were a few oopsies from where the tape couldn't lie completely flat due to the curvature of the lampshade. So I found ribbon that was thin enough it wouldn't take away from the stripes, but wide enough to cover the mistakes, added a little bow for fun, and voila! Here it is!
the whole she-bang :)

LO: Love that Smile!!

Hi everyone!! I host a crop at my house once a month for any ladies at my church that want to get together and scrapbook, and this is the ONE thing I got done this time haha!! The pics on this LO were leftover wallets from Frankie's 18month pictures. I just love how the photographer captured his true silly smile!!!! So, why just use the photo once? I think 3 times is much better haha!!!! The background paper is from My Mind's Eye Complete "Boys" Stack, the letters/half circle and green frame are Recollections cardstock. The star stamp is from Technique Tuesday Ali Edwards Design Peace Joy Love collection stamped in Broken China Distress Ink, the ribbon and button are from my stash. Have a blessed day!!   ♥

Happy Birthday Frankie!!!!!

Bubba always smiling
he thinks he's a rockstar
singing his heart out!
with his baby
Kira and Frankie lovin on their babies
It's hard to believe that 2 years ago our firstborn,Frankie, entered the world! Since day one he has been the sweetest boy, often called "mama's boy" because he is so loving. Frankie is a funny little fella, he absolutely LOVES any type of music (just like his mommy!! heehee) whether it be me humming a tune or him turning on one of his musical toys I can guarantee that most of the day he is dancing to a tune. He even sings to me when I go to get him out of his crib in the mornings, and while I make meals. Frankie has brought a LOT of joy to our lives with his silly giggles and all that love. He is quite nurturing always playing so nicely with his sister and brothers. Don't get me wrong he can fight and throw tantrums like them all as well!! He and Kira love to take their "babies" (aka whatever stuffed animal they choose for the day) and feed them and hug them and rock them to sleep, it is just the cutest thing ever!! I look forward to seeing how my little love turns out as an adult, and pray he keeps his football skills hahaha!!!

LO! Patty Patty Cake....

I made this LO quite awhile back, but it is still one of my favorites. Maybe just because I love this picture and the memory associated with it. All three kids were sitting on the edge of the coffee table singing "patty cake" and as you can see they were all at different parts of the rhyme hehe!! This was the first time I put a banner on a LO and I think it looks cute, and was a good way to pull out the colors in the paper.

 blessings!!!

Time is flying by....

and I am a mess!!! In a week Frankie will be 2. I know everyone talks about the "terrible two's" (which he has most certainly been going through!!) but all I can think about it how being 2 is officially out of the "baby" age. My first "baby" isn't a baby anymore and it's pretty hard for me to accept! Everytime I think about it my eyes well up with tears. And to think this is only year two! What am I going to do when he turns 10, 13, 16, 18!!?!??!? How do parents do it? I mean I know you can't keep a baby a baby forever, but man sometimes I wish I could!!!! Ok, mommy sad rant over. Hope you're all having a blessed week.

my fave "baby" pic of Frankie
P.S. LO of the week to come VERY soon!!!! Sorry it's late I have been spring cleaning in the fall haha!! ♥ Blessings!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

46 years ago today the world was blessed by the birth of my dad!!! He has always been an awesome father, a Christ-like example, and I have always looked up to him. He can sing like nobodies business and is always fun-loving. Now that I have kids I get to see what he is like with the little ones and boy oh boy does he have the touch with tiny babies and all of my kids scream with anticipation and joy when we pull up to his house, running in the door yelling "Papa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" I am honored to be able to call him my Daddy and hope he has a most wonderful birthday ♥
