Monday's Layout - Happy 2nd Birthday Kira

I am not going to lie at all, this layout kicked my butt!! I got the idea for it immediately when I saw the scrap from cutting out triangles for a banner, and finally got around to doing it this past week! It took me 2 hours to do, which is a long time for a layout for me!!
I think the hardest part was NOT using my Cricut to cut the pictures and some of the patterned paper to the right size triangle. In doing so, some of them aren't cut to the exact right size, but I think it still turned out pretty cute, and has the look I imagined :)

Supplies used:
glitter paper from Target
patterned paper: DCWV Nana's Nursery Baby Girl stack
Bazzill Basics Prismatics "Frosted Pink" cardstock

Brenda Walton Dollhouse Playtime stickers
Tim Holtz Distressed Ink "Worn Lipstick"
ribbon, buttons, and paper flowers from stash

Monday's Layout! 3 years later....

Happy Monday! I have decided I will share a layout I have created, or maybe that I just love that I have seen with you all each Monday :)

As you know from my last post my hubby and I just celebrated our 3 year anniversary! (which was FAB by the way... sushi, shopping, pork carnitas and key lime pie mmm mmm mmm!!) Well, this LO was my gift to him as he had been complaining about the particular pics I previously had in the frame. I tried really hard not to make this too feminine, but also have it match the decor in our room (olive green, cream, black) The pics were taken on Christmas this past year.I started out with distressing the pictures by sanding the edges, flicked some glimmer mist all over the paper. I cut-out the heart from some paper I had tested the glimmer mist color on when I first got it :) and stitched the edge of the heart. The paper on the left side were in my scrap stash, and I distressed the edge of the green by sanding as well. The number 3 I cut out from a scrap from the complete Boys stack. After putting it all together I thought it needed something around the edges so I very lightly blended some Black Soot around them. The ribbon on the frame is actually some leftover from my wedding decorations ♥
Ignore the "bubble" in the ribbon... from hubs holding it...
Supplies used: Recollections "Naturals" 12x12 paper; Maya Road "Buttermilk Cream" Maya Mist; paper scraps from My Minds Eye complete "Boys" Stack; Autumn Leaves "Ticketed" clear stamp; K & Co adhesive borders;Tim Holtz "Black Soot" Distress Ink, "Wedding" alpha stickers; button from stash, cut-out heart, ribbon from stash.

More fun than I thought we could have

Three years ago today my husband convinced me to elope with him, which started a roller-coaster of events. Had these events not happened I don't think our marriage would be as strong as it is today. We have gone through family not speaking to us from decisions we've made, fights, a ceremony to celebrate our marriage with family and friends, almost divorcing, our first son being born to taking on 2 more babies when he was a mere 3 weeks old, falling back in love with each other, not watching the other 2 babies for fear of me becoming psychotic, being on the outs with family again, job losses, almost losing the house and car, deciding to adopt the 2 babies, and much much more. Every trial our marriage has faced we have through lots of prayer confronted it head on and 3 years later I believe we have an extremely strong marriage.

And now, even through the rough times we always find a way to laugh with each other.

I would not change a thing about our marriage as it has made us the family we are today, I love you Andre and look forward to the rest of our lives together and all the adventures it will bring.

Robots, gears, stars... glimmer mist?

Even though I have 3 boys, I find that most often my scrapping and card-making is quite girly. So I was actually a bit intimidated when I started on Mason's birthday card. I had bought the DCWV All About Boys Stack specifically for these types of projects for my boys and was quite excited to break into it!

I asked Mason just a few days before what his favorite color was and he told me orange, so I started out with making the card base out of bright orange cardstock. I knew I wanted to use the robots paper but wasn't sure if I wanted a big chunk background or what. After playing around with different designs I decided on doing a cutout of a robot and some gears.

I also bought a kit from my besty Tiffy's etsy that has a bunch of embellies that match the paper I used, but I didn't like the way the gear die cut matched, so I decided to try something new! I just got my first glimmer mist, so I turned the gear over and misted around it to have the outline of it. Note to self though - buttermilk cream glimmer mist does not show up so well on orange paper! It was fun to try though, and after adding some red pencil I think in turned out ok! I also got the orange stars ribbon and "Oh Boy Oh Boy" strip from the kit I bought from Tiffy.

I had a lot of fun making this card, and am excited to start doing more "boyish" crafting heehee!!

Happy Birthday to my Mason man!!!

Saturday was a very big day in the Pigott household! Mason, our oldest turned 4!!! It is so hard for me to believe it has already been four years since he entered the world!! I remember seeing him for the very first time, 2 weeks old, so tiny. Me singing him his special lullaby written just for him, lulling him to sleep as he lie on my chest. I remember leaving him with Andre for a few hours while mom and I bought a kitchen table and him being the first diaper Andre EVER changed.

Mason has always been "full of life" so to say. He has always loved dancing and playing the "drums" (or beating on anything and everything with whatever he can grab). he definitely went through his stage where we all thought we would go bald from ripping our hair out trying to get him to behave. All it took was structure, love, and someone to listen to his language that none of us understood. His word for thank you was "yodi" haha!!

Now, Mason is an awesome big brother that constantly loves on his siblings with hugs and kisses and lots of "I love you's" He also LOVES being told he is a big boy and teaching them right from wrong and how to read and spell like him. I can't believe Mason is barely 4 and can read, write and spell his name. He can also read and spell; Mommy, Kira, Nana, Papa and baby. ♥ He is so so smart, he makes me proud every day!

Mason's favorite things right now are; Spiderman, toy cars, Toy Story 3, and Chuckie Cheese of course!

Baby oh!!! LOTS OF PICS! ♥

As I said earlier, I just threw a baby shower for one of my good friends. She has 3 boys and after waiting and waiting, is finally having her girl!! So, it was a very "pink" shower. I hand-made all of the game prizes, as well as most of the decorations. I tried to make the larger decorations so that she could take them home and use them as decor for her nursery if she wanted, and she did!! I had so much fun making all of these things that I am even now considering doing some party planning when I have time haha!!
Here are some pictures of some of  the deco -

Invitation
Guest Book
Wall Hanging
I also made a banner out of pink glitter paper with a brown background that says "Sweet Baby Girl" and pink and white favor boxes with bows cut out of the sides and scalloped edges [no pics of those tho :( ]Here is how we used these to decorate!!
Sign in Table
Banner above buffet

For the game prizes I made a simple mini album and an explosion box. It was the first explosion box I ever made and it was sooo easy and sooo fun! Well, I attribute it's ease to my Cricut and Make the Cut software!! I already have so many pics in this post I won't bog it down with more, so if you would like to see the mini and explosion box click here.
Thanks for looking at all the fun I had!
